CUPERTINO

The home of high-tech giant Apple Inc.

WELCOME TO CUPERTINO

When people talk about Cupertino, there's not a single conversation that doesn't lead to tech industry giant Apple Inc. and the founding of Silicon Valley. As one of the founding cities of Silicon Valley, Cupertino is part of the global center for innovation and technology — which is one of the reasons why the city has been home to Apple's HQ.

As a result, the area is very affluent and full of some of the most prestigious job opportunities.

Cupertino is also known for having the perfect balance of excellent schools, quiet neighborhoods, and convenience. Surrounded by Saratoga, Campbell, and West San Jose, Cupertino offers an urban-suburban mix feel that allows residents to have close access to the best nearby big cities have to offer while benefitting from the peace and quiet of its neighborhood.

LOCAL LIFESTYLE

The tech industry has influenced the vibe and ambiance of Cupertino significantly. Education and academics are important, which is evident in the many highly-rated school systems in the area. Residents in the area are some of the wealthiest in California, contributing to a thriving economy. And the convenience of parks, shops, and restaurants within minutes has kept the commercial area bustling.

DINING, ENTERTAINMENT & SHOPPING

Dining in Cupertino is very diverse, offering a range of selections to fit your appetite. First and foremost, there are many great international cuisines on De Anza Blvd and Stevens Creek Blvd, like Aqui's and SpiceKlub. And Cicero's Pizza is a Cupertino fixture.

Cupertino Main Street also has several good restaurants, such as Oren's Hummus and Alexander's Steak House. This is also where you'll find the best retail for upscale brands (at the Main Street Cupertino shopping mall) and entertainment like Homestead Bowl & The X Bar.

THINGS TO DO

Just because Cupertino is an area that plays a significant role in the tech industry, they're not all work, no play. Memorial Park hosts a number of festivals and events, such as the Cherry Blossom Festival in late April/early May and the annual Diwali Mela — Festival of Lights in October.

The Blackberry Farm, open all year round, offers a popular recreational pool, as well as a highly-rated golf course. Many residents enjoy a good hike in one of many of Rancho's San Antonio Natural Reserve trails, and the ball fields, picnic tables, and playground at Jollyman Park are great for families.

SCHOOLS

Residents in Cupertino have many great options for schools, but one in the Fremont Union High School District is particularly known for being competitive and academically challenging, leading to some of the most successful careers:

  • Monta Vista High, public, Grades 9 to 12, has a rating of 10/10 for Test Scores and 10/10 for College Readiness, as well as a ranking of #10 in Best College Prep Public High School in California
